This thang-kha depicts Vajrasattva, or essence of Diamond, one of the many names of Adi-Buddha . Common to the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism, the Vajrasattva practices are an essential element of the cult to purify the mind. Sumptuously decorated in gold and jewels, the divinity is sitting in the position of the Padmasana on a lotus, holding the vajra in his right hand and a bell with the left, the symbols of compassion and wisdom. Its head is framed by a green halo, dark and blue are the rays that releases from his body by wrapping it in a circle with a golden halo. At the top of his head there are three Arhat. To the right of the Vajrasattva, Sadaksari Avalokiteshvara is depicted with four arms, seated in position vajra. To the left, the protector of the faith wrapped in tongues of fire wears a skin of a tiger. Against the background of the Thang Kha, three guardians of the faith, the expressions on their faces angry, to protect the mediation.
